About the Book

"Mr D'Oyly Carte engages Sherlock Holmes to investigate mysterious incidents that take place at the Savoy Theatre. Is the house jinxed, or is someone intent on murdering the baronets of Montague Manor by the most foul and fiendish means?

What cultural icons personify the Victorian era better than Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson and Gilbert and Sullivan? That they would have known each other is highly probable. Holmes was a music lover of course, and Gilbert was quarrelsome, and litigious enough to need investigative help. Directly, and indirectly through the music of the operettas, the worlds of Gilbert and Sullivan and Holmes and Watson meet in these stories. "

About the Author(s)

"Mike Hogan is British, but has lived all his adult life abroad, mostly in Asia. He has worked in Libya, Japan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Thailand. In November of 2011, he started writing for a (precarious) living.
He has published three books in a series of Sherlock Holmes pastiches set in 1887, the year of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. The books feature schoolboy Winston Churchill as the cuckoo in the nest at 221B baker Street. "
